"Best place to stay in Siena!"

foodThis was a wonderful choice of hotel in Siena. The hotel has just a few rooms and they look out over the Baptistery of the Duomo, which is one of the finest in Italy. The view from the room was awesome! Staff were incredible and assisted us with a written tour we could take driving amongst the hill towns of Tuscany including San Gimignano and Volterra. They also provided expert recommendations for restaurants in the area. The other exceptional aspect of the hotel was their parking arrangements. You drove your car to the outskirts of town to the parking garage, and the garage's expert drivers took you in your vehicle to the hotel, so that they did all the crazy driving through the narrow alleys, and tourist filled streets. Any time you wanted your car, the garage staff would come get you, and you could simply drive out at the edge of the city instead of dealing with the ZTL and difficult areas. We wish that our stay in Florence was as easy. We only stayed two nights, but if we could have a do over, we would have stayed at Il Battistero longer and made it our base for excursions through Tuscany. Next time for sure! The hotel is right at the Duomo, and only two blocks from Il Campo. The city is wonderful, with the walled area being very limited to traffic, and just beautiful.

“Left our hearts in Siena”

foodSiena stole our hearts! And it all started with Giovanni! He greeted us late in the evening and spoiled us with his genuine, happy presence! What an amazing location and building. Incredible, everything! We will only stay with them every time we go to Siena from now on. He lead us to great restaurants and areas, made us smile for the entire time we were there. I highly highly recommend this beautiful Il Battistero Siena!

"Absolutely...The Best!"

foodWe have been travelling for 6 weeks from Brisbane Australia and our very short 1 night stay here was amongst the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. This place is a family run hotel with all the trimmings of comfort plus the personal touch from Giovanni and his family. Once booked I received a personal email from the reception staff regarding my stay. Even though I was only going to be there 1 night I was treated very well. From the moment I knocked on the front door I was overwhelmed by Giovanni's enthusiasm and friendliness. I can't express just how lovely it was to be greeted in such a manner after a morning of travelling, tired and dirty. The rooms were spacious and immaculate. Cynthia then served us refreshments and we were taken on a tour of the historical building and shown the secret passageway the Pope used. If you only have one night in Siena this is where you stay because the view out of the bedroom window is the Duomo Di Siena! So we were still able to see this magnificent Duomo and climb the tower even though we were there for 1 night. I don't think you can go past this place. It's just superb.

"The only place to stay in central Sienna!"

foodAmazing central position. All the famous sites are within easy walk. Everybody at Il Battistero is super friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. We have already booked to go back next year. Can't wait!

"Beautiful decor Battistero, perfect centred location and amazing staff"

foodI work in this industry in nyc and I honestly barely ever experienced such a great welcoming hospitality. First of all the location is unbeatable. Siena is small and just the cutest little town in Tuscany (half hour away from Florence) and we were really in the little town centre, just steps away from Piazza and Torre del Mangia (famous for the Palio) Cinzia was absolutely fantastic. She was not only there greeting us. She walked through the room showing the facilities and too care of our dinner reservation an our breakfast preferences. She then took charge of having somebody get our car on a parking in Siena up the hill and have it safely parked in a Garage for the night and get it back the morning after (when we left, we stayed only one night) in front of the Battistero. Our room was a Stunning suite, gorgeous view, with bathtub and beautiful decor. Cinzia teams brought us breakfast in the room. We were speechless. It all crossed our expectations. What a fantastic experience.

"Il Battistero Siena is a jewel in Siena's crown"

foodIl Battistero Siena is a gem of a find. Very centrally located - just a 1 minute walk from Siena Square. The accommodation is delightful, very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The owner and Magda were exceptionally helpful and very welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at Il Battistero. We will certainly be back!

"Outstanding in every way"

foodThe welcome was excellent, with really good information provided by the charming and knowledgeable receptionist. The room was very large and very well appointed, exceptionally comfortable. The location is perfect for sightseeing, you're with a few metres of all the major sites. We arrived by car and had excellent directions provided to get us there (driving into Siena is a bit daunting) and out.

"I really would want to keep this place a secret for my next visit to Siena"

foodGreat location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms spotless every day. Italian breakfasts outstanding (coffee is great). Most of all, the rooms are beautifully furnished. If I return to Siena, it's the place to stay again.

"Excellent location and incredible hospitality"

foodWe were so pleased after staying here. The staff was so friendly that we didn't want to leave. The rooms are very comfortable and I love the capability of closing shutters so the room remains dark at night. You really can't go wrong here. They provided great information regarding restaurants, etc. They also speak english and helped with a urgent phone call to another hotel. Great breakfast. I love the option for hard boiled eggs. You can't go wrong here.

"Excellent location and personalised service!"

foodIl Battistero is small family owned and run B&B located in Piazza San Giovanni, right on the steps of Siena Cathedral. And Piazza Del Campo is just a two minute walk and there are many shops and restaurants in between. It's a cozy inn with excellent and personalised service. The B&B is part of a family home that has been in the family since the 15th century and was once occupied by Pope Alexander VII. The sense of its history made our stay here all the more exciting! The room we stayed in was nicely and comfortably furnished and was facing the Piazza. We could hear a bit of noise from the piazza during the day but come night, everything was quiet. The only regret we had about the place and Siena in general is that we couldn't stay longer!

"Enjoy Tuscany like a Medici Prince!"

foodSometimes you just get lucky when you make your travel selection for lodging. Of course Trip Advisor is helpful, but nothing compares to having every possible expectation to be exceeded... this is the case for Il Battistero Siena B&B! I spent 8 nights there with my Dad recently. Giovanni and his Mom were so wonderful and helpful from the moment you arrive. Literally right behind the Sienna Duomo you are staying in an original papal residence from the 17th century. Location is amazing - just 5 minutes to El Campo. Every night a different restaurant on Giovanni's recommendation, and every time a winner! Breakfast felt like a family affair with home cooking - fresh eggs, pastries, hams, juice, Italian coffee.. just YUMMY! There is a reason why Il Battistero Siena B&B has such a high rating. When it is sad to say 'Goodbye' to the staff, you know you have made new friends. I can't wait to return with my girlfriend next Spring. Check this place out. You will be delighted!

"Highlight of Italy!"

foodWe loved staying here, the room was beautiful, amazing balcony and view. The owners couldn't have been nicer, honestly truly very special people. The history of the building and the family's history make this a once in a life time stay. Highly recommend you book today and don't look back you won't find a better location, right in front of the Duomo, down the way is the Campo, room is beautiful, service great! They recommended and made two restaurant reservations for us, wonderful. 5 Stars!

"Beautiful B and B and stunning room with a view"

foodWe arrived at the B and B around 7pm but the staff were there waiting for us and took our cases to our room, provided a map of the city and gave some general advice on what to do during our stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful And as Joshua spoke English he showed us to our room.
We had booked the room with terrace which was absolutely stunning. We were not sure what to expect but had a beautiful balcony overlooking the rooftops of Siena.. On both nights of our stay we sat out there with a bottle of wine before going out to dinner. We wished we had stayed longer as it was such a relaxing place, we didn't feel we made the most of it. Breakfast was pleasant but the room in which it was served was quite hot. You may not realise but you can order off a menu, rather than just have that is on offer in the small buffet. If you don't want to pay for breakfast then there is a small cafe just outside the building. The location of the B and B is fantastic, on the doorstep of the Duomo and a very short walk to Piazza del Campo.

"Splendid place in Sienna!"

foodOne of the friendliest and most interesting places I have ever stayed. The family that owns the hotel are extremely nice. They actually waited for us outside anticipating the time we might arrive and foreseeing we might have trouble finding the hotel. The GPS is not working too well in the narrow streets of Siena. They are more then happy to talk about the history of the property, which is owned by their family for centuries. We got the room from which le Corbusier made a sketch of Duomo di Siena just in front across the square. It was interesting as I am an architect. A violinist and a dancer performing on the steps of the Battistero di San Giovanni moved my wife to tears. Especially that she had her birthday that day. The rooms are very modern and clean. Breakfast was very good.

"So memorable!"

foodWe had the room with the terrace and it was magical. The bathtub alone was stunning. The location is perfection but tricky to find because there is no signage. Giovani and Cynthia were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was just average and not included so I would skip that. But what a beautiful, sophisticated remodel of the rooms an attention to detail. It is literally on the Baptistry square so everywhere you walk is charming things to see and eat! We recommend Il Battistero and hope to return during.

"Amazing place"

foodWe were totally bowled over by this place. Set in the middle of Siena, 80 m from Il Campo, this place is a must for anyone who wants to be centrally located in this beautiful city. Giovanni and his family couldn't do enough for us. The design of the room we stayed in was exceptional. The fact that this was a building where Pope Alessandro VII stayed in, makes it even more amazing. We found that the only negative was that we didn't stay longer. If it's Siena, it must be Il Battistero. We'll be back!
